FUTURO WILL
(Affirmative, Negative and Interrogative Form)

Sujeto + will + verbo
I will play / Yo jugaré
(You will You'll).

AFIRMATIVA
I (shall / will) play
You will play
He will play
We (shall / will) play
You will play
They will play Yo jugaré
Tú jugarás
Él jugará
Nosotros jugaremos
Vosotros jugareis
Ellos jugarán

NEGATIVA
I (shall / will) not play
You will not play
He will not play
We (shall / will) not play
You will not play
They will not play Yo no jugaré
Tú no jugarás
Él no jugará
Nosotros no jugaremos
Vosotros no jugaréis

Will you play?
auxiliar + sujeto + not
Will you not play? / ¿No jugarás?

sujeto+ futuro de 'to be' + gerundio del verbo a conjugar
You will be flying to Paris tomorrow at this hour /

FORMA NEGATIVA
I shall / will not be playing
no estaré jugando

FORMA INTERROGATIVA
shall / will I be playing?
¿estaré jugando?

FORMA INT. NEGATIVA
shall / will I not be playing?
¿no estaré jugando?

They will be leaving tomorrow / Ellos saldrán mañana.

i think brazil will win the football match.

i'll have saved 500 dollars by the end of this year.

i think it will be cooler tomorrow.

FUTURO IDIOMÁTICO GOING TO
(Affirmative, Negative and Interrogative Form)
The president is to meet the congressmen tomorrow / El presidente se reunirá con los congresistas mañana
- Con 'to have to' (tener que)
I have to go to the dentist / Tengo que ir al dentista
ejemplo : I' m going to write some letters this evening.
ejemplo: Microsoft is going to launch a new product.
ejemplo: I'm going to have a year off. (voy a tomarme un año sabático)
CLÁUSULAS O PREPOSICIONES RELATIVAS DEFINIDAS Y NO DEFINIDAS.
Ejemplos:
We helped the mother, who was screaming.
Ayudamos a la madre, que estaba gritando.

Pick up the red tie, which is the finest one

The father, who was in the first row, cried out of pride.

Ejemplos:

We helped the mother who/ that was screaming. We could not help the other one.
Ayudamos a la madre que estaba gritando. No pudimos ayudar a la otra.

The children that initiated the game won and the others lost.

We purchased the books that were on sale. The others stayed.
Adquirimos los libros que estaban en oferta. Los otros se quedaron allí.

The fence that had just been painted was photographed by the tourists.

Pick up the red tie that is the finest, not the one that is so old.

CLAUSULAS RELATIVAS:
I/you/he/she/we/they.

WHOSE. Adv. y adj.).
De quien; de quiénes.
{Pron.}.
De quién;
del que,
del cual,
de la que,
de la cual;
cuyo; cuya;
cuyas; cuyos.

Se emplea en formas posesivas.
Significa básicamente OF WHO
MY STUDENTS, WHOSE HOMEWORK IS NEVER DONE, WILL FAIL THE EXAM.
THAT DOG WHOSE BONE YOU TOOK IS GOING TO BITE YOUR LEG OFF.
THE CITY, WHOSE FOOTBALL TEAM LOST THE FINAL, NEVER WINS ANYTHING.

WHOSE equivale a CUYO.
WHOSE GO IS IT? ¿A quién le toca?
WHOSE GO IS IT?. ¿A quién le toca?•
WHOSE IS THIS?. ¿De quién es esto?•

¿Que casa visitaron ellos?
FOR WHOSE SAKE HAS HE COME?
¿Por que motivo vino?
THE MAN WHOSE SON YOU RESCUED.
El hombre cuyo hijo usted rescato.
WHO OR WHOM?
¿Quien o a quien?
Ejemplos:
WHO SAW YOU?
¿A quien viste?
pero: WHOM DID YOU SEE?
¿A quién viste?
WHOM {pron.}Que; qué; a quien; a quién, a quiénes (interrogativo)•
¿WHO o WHOM?

Ejemplos:

WHO SAW YOU?
¿Quien os vio?
pero WHOM DID YOU SEE?
¿A quien viste?
WHOMEVER.
A quienquiera.
WHOMEVER ELSE.
Cualquier otro (anyone else).
WHOMEVER THAT MAY BE.

TO, OF, FOR, WITH, etc.

WITH WHOM. Con quien.
FOR WHOM. Para quien.
FOR WHOM DID YOU ORGANIZE THE PARTY?
¿Para quien organizaste la fiesta?
THOSE WHOM I LOVE.
A los que amo.
Aquellos a quienes amo.
THOSE TO WHOM I SPOKE.
A los que hable.
Aquéllos a quien les hablé.
SOME OF WHOM MAY HELP INTRODUCE US TO OTHERS.

TO WHOM
A quien.

WHOM WERE YOU TALKING JUST NOW?
¿A quien hablaba usted ahora mismo?
WHOM CAN WE TRUST?
¿En quien podemos confiar?
WHOM IT MAY CONCERN.
A quien corresponda.
WHOM HAVE YOU CONSULTED?
¿A quien ha consultado usted?
TO WHOM DID YOU GIVE...?
¿A quien le has dado...?
TO WHOM DID HE TALK?
¿Con quién ha hablado?
TO WHOM WERE YOU SPEAKING?
¿A quien hablaba usted?
TO WHOM WILL SHE
ADDRESS THE LETTER?
¿A quien enviara ella la carta?
TO WHOM DID YOU
SEND THE INVITATIONS?

Incorrecto:
Who did you see downtown?
Who did you send the invitations to?

Correcto:
(To) Whom did you see downtown?
(To) Whom did you send the invitations?

The woman that he was talking to, is his sister.

The woman to whom
he was talking is his sister.
TO WHOM WERE YOU TALKING JUST NOW?

TO WHOM WERE YOU TALKING?
puede sonar demasiado formal.
WHAT
WHAT THE DEVIL...?
¿Qué diablos...?
WHO THE DEVIL...?
¿Quién diablos...?
2. Sociedad del conocimiento.
2.1. Usos: Benéficos y perjudiciales.
2.1.1. PASADO PERFECTO (Past Perfect Tense)

The film had finished when she arrived at the cinema.

Sarah had prepared dinner when her husband got home.

I had bought a new car. Yo había comprado un nuevo auto.
You had cleaned the house. Tú habías limpiado la casa.
He had brought the gifts. Él había traído los regalos.
She had lost the credit card.

Had I bought a new car? Había comprado yo un nuevo auto?
Had you cleaned the house? Habías limpiado tú la casa?
Had he brought the gifts? Había traído él los regalos?
Had she lost the credit card?

I had not bought a new dress. Yo no había comprado un nuevo vestido.
You had not cleaned the house. Tú no habías limpiado la casa.
He had not brought the gifts. Él no había traído los regalos.
She had not lost the credit card.

If he had explained it to us, it wouldn’t have been so complicated.

Could y might + have + past participle en la oración subordinada.
PASADO CONTINUO DEL VERBO TO BE.
I was eating something. Estaba comiendo algo.
You were talking to somebody. Estabas hablando con alguien.
He was listening to something. Estaba escuchando algo. (él)
She was reading something. Estaba leyendo algo. (ella)
It was going somewhere. Iba a algún sitio.
You were looking at something. Mirabais algo.
We were wearing something. Llevábamos algo puesto.
They were sitting somewhere.

Por ejemplo, "We were wearing something" equivale a "Llevabamos algo puesto" y no "Estabamos llevando algo puesto", o "They were sitting" equivale a "Estaban sentados" y no "Estaban sentándose" como en español.

I was not eating something. No estaba comiendo algo.
You were not talking to somebody. No estabas hablando con alguien.
He was not listening to something. No estaba escuchando algo. (él)
She was not reading something. No estaba leyendo algo. (ella)
It was not going somewhere. No iba a algún sitio.
You were not looking at something. No mirabais algo.
We were not wearing something. No llevábamos algo puesto.
They were not sitting somewhere. No estaban sentados en algún sitio.
Nota: Contracciones: Se suele contraer "I was not" con "I wasn't", "it was not" con "it wasn't", "you were not" con "you weren't", "we were not" con "we weren't", "that was not" con ""that wasn't", etc.

Was I eating something? ¿Estaba comiendo algo?
Were you talking to somebody? ¿Estabas hablando con alguien?
Was he listening to something? ¿Estaba escuchando algo? (él)
Was she reading something? ¿Estaba leyendo algo? (ella)
Was it going somewhere? ¿Iba a algún sitio?
Were you looking at something? ¿Mirabais algo?
Were we wearing something? ¿Llevábamos algo puesto?
Were they sitting somewhere? ¿Estaban sentados en algún sitio?

Nota: La palabra "some" y "any" a veces significan lo mismo. La principal diferencia es que "some" se suele utilizar para afirmativas y "any" para negativas y interrogativas.
Nota: En el pasado continuo interrogativo simplemente se intercambia el verbo "to be" con el sujeto para hacer la pregunta.

La estructura básica de las respuestas cortas del pasado continuo (e iguales que las del verbo "to be"):
Yes, I was. No, I wasn't.
Yes, you were. No, you weren't.
Yes, he was. No, he wasn't.
Yes, she was. No, she wasn't.
Yes, it was. No, it wasn't.
Yes, we were. No, we weren't.
Yes, you were. No, you weren't.
• If she wrote a book, it would be a best-seller.

Ejemplo:
If you studied, you could/might get good results.
TAG QUESTIONS.
Affirmative statement
(declaración afirmativa) Affirmative statement with Tag question
(declaración afirmativa con etiqueta de pregunta)
Are you not awake? Aren’t you awake?
I am awake. I am awake, am I not?
You are awake. You are awake, aren’t you?
She is awake. She is awake, isn’t she?
We are awake. We are awake, aren’t we?
They are awake. They are awake, aren’t they?

Declaración afirmativa con la etiqueta pregunta
¿No despierta? ¿No estás despierto?
Me despierto. Me despierto, estoy no?
Usted está despierto. Usted está despierto, ¿no?

Ella está despierta. Ella está despierta, no es ella?
Estamos despiertos.

1. Estructura
It’s warm today, isn’t it?
You speak English, don’t you?
They are coming, are they?
Los verbos que podemos encontrar en las tag questions suelen ser: el TO BE, los auxiliars DO / DOES / DID / HAVE / HAS / HAD / WILL /WOULD y también verbos modales. El sujeto siempre tiene forma pronominal: I, you, he, she, it, we, they.
Jim hasn’t arrived, has he?
Jane can swim, can’t she?
Importante
She plays the piano, doesn’t she?
Tim passed the exam, didn’t he?
You have been to New York before, haven’t you?
They work in a factory, don’t they?
She won’t finish the project on time, will she?
There is a problem with the heating, isn’t there?
Importante
She never smiles, does she?
Nobody came to the party, did they?
Nothing really matters, does it?
Let’s go to the cinema tonight, shall we?
En las otras frases imperativas, afirmativas o negativas, la Tag question más habitual es la will you?:
Open the door, will you?
Don’t smoke here, will you?Melchora Guadalupehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07703603981910168461noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-979634514024653476.post-44053101276580119962012-01-25T20:08:00.000-08:002012-01-25T20:08:13.440-08:00Voz pasiva en tiempo presente.1. "What is done?" = ¿Qué se hace?
o "What is being done?" = ¿Qué se está haciendo?
What is done?

Voz Activa

The lady buys a new hat.

Voz Pasiva

A new hat is bought by the lady.

My sister lost the keys.

My sister lost the keys.

The keys were lost by my sister.

Observe en la oración pasiva que "the keys" ocupan el lugar de sujeto, "by my sister" es el complemento agente y el verbo principal está ahora en pasado participio acompañado por el verbo to be (were) en pasado simple ya que la oración activa se encontraba en ese tiempo verbal.Melchora Guadalupehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07703603981910168461noreply@blogger.com5
